An elderly woman who was run over by her own car in Brentwood last week has died, police said Thursday.
Jaclynn Quadros, 72, died at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek early Wednesday morning from major injuries suffered in the accident, which happened outside her Brentwood home on July 16, according and police.
Police Lt. Doug Silva said Quadros had pulled into her driveway in the 600 block of Heather Place and stopped the car, but did not put it in “park.”
After Quadros got out of the car, the vehicle began moving and she was knocked to the ground by the open driver’s side door, Silva said. Her left leg was run over by one of the car’s tires, he said.
A passerby saw Quadros lying in the driveway and called 911.
“She was conscious and breathing, but the injury was pretty bad,” Silva said.
Quadros was airlifted to John Muir Medical Center, where she died around 1:20 a.m. Wednesday, according to a coroner’s deputy and police.
