The weather service is forecasting rain for the rest of this week in the Bay Area.
For San Francisco ’s Chinatown , this could mean flooding in many stores that are below street level.
Mr. Lee, who manages a Chinese restaurant on Jackson Street, said he is used to flooding.
He adds that when the rain is very heavy, the water will come into the dining area from the kitchen and “ some customers eat here with their legs soaking in water .”
The staff uses towels to help absorb the water. Lee says the restaurant has a machine to help dredge the blocked drainage.
