Animal shelter seeks home for 36-pound cat

An animal shelter in Phoenix got an unusual addition this week.

This is “meatball.”

He’s the largest cat ever turned in to maricopa county animal control.

Staff say the 36-pound feline is too big to fit in shelter kennels…

So meatball has been enjoying more spacious digs in a staff member’s office.

They say meatball is very friendly… and can walk comfortably despite the extra pounds.

Animal control is trying to get him into a rescue organization that helps overweight cats lose weight.
