Amanda Berry’s sister, Beth Serrano, made a brief statement to the media Wednesday outside the family’s cleveland home. Serrano requested privacy while the family works through the ordeal they have been through.
“I just want to say we are so happy to have amanda and her daughter home. I want to thank the public and media for their support and courage over the years. And at this time our family would request privacy so my sister and niece and I can have time to recover. We appreciate all you have done for us throughout the past ten years. Please respect our privacy until we are ready to make our statements. And thank you.”
Police initially said Amanda Berry would address the media — but it was later announced that she would not speak publicly.
Charges could come today against three brothers suspected of holding Amanda Berry and two other women hostage for years.
