Affordable senior community near City Hall starts accepting application

The Mary Helen Rogers Senior Community is accepting applications this month. Deadline for submission is August 31, 2012.

This affordable housing project is located at 701 Golden Gate Avenue in San Francisco, providing a total of 100 studios and 1-bedroom residential units for low-income and very low-income seniors. Monthly rent ranges from $696 to$994. First occupancy is expected on December 1, 2012.

Applicants must be 55 years of age or older, and meet income requirements. Yearly total income for a 1-person household must not exceed $36,050.

Maximum occupancy for studios and 1-bedroom units are 2 and 3 respectively.

Application forms are available until August 24, 2012, from 13 community organizations including

the Chinatown Community Development Center.
