Meteorologist – Part Time

Are you an engaging storyteller who can connect with viewers about weather that impacts their lives? KTSF TV 26 in San Francisco Bay Area, CA is looking for a dynamic and knowledgeable part-time meteorologist who can produce clear, concise and accurate forecasts on all television and digital platforms. We are looking for a skilled communicator who has a passion for the weather and telling weather stories that are compelling, accurate and easy-to-understand for the viewers. Candidate will be available to appear at community events, speaking engagements, promotions and other KTSF TV functions. Responsibilities: Produce and anchor weather segments for live newscasts and digital platforms. Produce clear and accurate forecasts across all platforms. Contribute to social media. Researching and writing stories for television and digital platforms. Must be available to work shifts that include weekends, nights, holidays and overnights. Must be available to work some holidays. Help develop and maintain weather computer systems. Report from the field on weather- related and/or news stories as needed. Requirements: Meteorologist with at least one year of television experience preferred, Experience in a newsroom, Ability to remain calm under pressure. Ability to work on deadlines. Ability to work in a team environment. Technically savvy with ability to multi-task, cross-train and learn new skills quickly. Must have reliable transportation to and from work. Ability to read and write in Cantonese and/or Mandarin strongly preferred. Degree in meteorology or atmospheric science or related field. AMS and/or NWS seal preferred.

Studio Director – Part Time

KTSF is seeking a part time Studio director for live newscast. Responsible for directing technical personnel for live and taped programs to achieve the highest level of production quality within the allotted time and specifications. Candidate must have excellent communication skills in English, Cantonese & Mandarin. Ability to read/write Chinese in order to evaluate on air quality as well as graphics and subtitles for proper content. Works closely with news producers and on camera talent to prepare for and achieve the best possible programs and newscast. Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions calmly and under the pressure of a live studio production. Communicates to staff in a professional manner. Understanding of cameras, video switchers, live feeds, audio production. Looking for candidate with two years as a broadcast studio director or similar experience. Excellent command of English and Chinese. Proficiency of production related equipment. Use of cameras, field and studio lighting equipment.

Video Shader/Engineer – Part Time

KTSF TV is seeking a Video Shader/Engineer to set-up, time and configure all camera components and confirm all video signals; properly operate, maintain and troubleshoot equipment; shade cameras during event; oversee proper strike and storage of equipment; assist department in maintaining high level of event production; ensure camera equipment is used and stored properly. We are looking for a candidate with a college Education or the equivalent experience. Minimum 2 years video shading experience in a live broadcasting environment. Candidate is customer-service orientation, with a fun, friendly attitude and professional appearance at all times. Possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Technically savvy with Ability to multi-task, cross-train and learn new skills quickly. Able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required. Must have reliable transportation to and from work. Position requires the ability to run broadcast equipment as designed including the ability to, walk, talk, hear, stand for extended periods of time and climb stairs. Position requires the ability to stand up to five hours without a break. Position requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

News Production Assistant

News Production Assistant for live Chinese-language newscasts. Part-time; Knowledge of Chinese language and non-linear editing preferred.

TV Mojo News Reporter (Bilingual / Chinese)

KTSF is seeking a Cantonese-speaking Mojo (mobile journalist) News Reporter who can shoot news and produce, write and edit news for broadcast, on-line and social media. B.A. degree or higher in related field is required. A minimum of one year of translation work, writing, reporting in broadcast news or equivalent. Must speak/write and have excellent command of Cantonese and English is required. Valid CA driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance.

News Producer

TV News Producer for live, M-F evening Mandarin language newscast. Must be able speak/write Chinese/English fluently. Previous or similar experience needed in producing news content. Position is a full time 32 hours per week with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401K, vacation, sick leave, LTD, STD, and Life insurance.

Account Executives – KTSF-TV

The San Francisco Bay Area’s leader in Asian Language Television is seeking Account Executives to develop new business and service existing advertisers. The ideal candidate is energetic, positive and goal-oriented. Must be highly-organized and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Candidate will be computer/internet proficient, have a valid driver’s license, and have the ability to work as part of a team. Previous advertising sales experience and college education is a plus. Language proficiency in Chinese is a plus.
