Getting a four-year college degree wasn’t nearly enough for one california man — neither was graduate school.
In fact, he now has a variety of college degrees.
It`s the day every college student dreams of: graduation.
“Commencements are exhilarating celebrations of promises fulfilled.”
…but for one of these California State University San Marcos students, it`s not the first time or the second or third.
No, it`s the fourth.
At 90-years-old Wally Taibleson is the oldest graduate in the California State University system.
Friday afternoon, he earned his master of arts in education.
It`s his fourth degree from the school.
“Bachelors degree in history, a masters in literature and writing studies, a masters in history, and now a masters in education.”
…but Taibleson believes there`s always room to learn more.
“Any time you can devote to improving your mind and increasing your learning is valuable for you as well as those you’re associated with.”
This is likely the last time Wally will attend graduation as a student.
Fighting macular degeneration, he now dreams of becoming a mentor to others, opening their eyes to the importance of education.
