Sheriffs deputies in Sacramento, California pulled a suicidal man from the ledge of a hospital parking garage Monday.

A Sheriff’s helicopter captured video of the rescue.

Authorities say a 59-year-old man called the sheriff’s department and said he was on top of the ledge and wanted to jump.

Authorities say a deputy down below on the ground distracted the man while three more deputies snuck up behind him and pulled him from the ledge.

“And we got closer to him, and within about a three- or four-foot — we were just just – kind of took off at a sprint, all three of us. We were all able to grab him at the same time…. you know, it’s one person’s life that I was able to help in my shift. It was great.”

The man was not hurt.

He was taken to the hospital for a mental evaluation.
