San Francisco Supervisors announced the donation of Ipads to the Community Ambassadors Safety Program. The new tech devices allow ambassadors to better communicate with residents and access critical safety information.
San Francisco Police Chief Greg Suhr says,” they will be able to conduct their work more effectively while documenting important information for the police to analyze. A Chinese ambassador adds it will ”help them with language translation if we don’t speak the language. We can have application where we can do translation right there.”
Malia Cohen, District 10 Supervisor says, “here we are in the 21st century, so now we are beginning to act like members in the 21st century.”
The Ipads are donated by AT&T which has also provided free service and cell phones since the Ambassador Program started in July, 2010.
