Under a new program some seniors may loose day care services because they will no longer be considered eligible. The new Community-Based Adult Service (CBAS) is going to replace Adult Day Health Care, which is a state-sponsored program. The change will impact twenty seniors at the Stepping Stone Mabini Day Health Center in San Francisco who will no longer be eligible for services .
The center has 68 participants, half of them are Chinese. It plans on making an appeal on behalf of the rejected seniors. That process will take anywhere from 60 to 90 days.
