State regulators close a medical training facility leaving about 300 students uncertain about their future.

The Institute of Medical Education with campuses in Oakland and San Jose was shut down yesterday. The spokesperson for the California Private Postsecondary Education Bureau said the school has violated the law by falsely advertising itself as an accredited institution. The state’s Department of Consumer Affairs will help students recover their tuitions.

The Institute of Medical Education offered many medical programs including nursing, ultrasound technology, MRI technology, and lab technology.
