The San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) has already mailed out school assignment offers for the upcoming school year to nearly 14,000 families. The district says about 80 percent of the applicants (11,139) received one of their choices.

Students applying for 6th or 9th grade were more likely to receive their first choice school. Fifty-six percent of kindergarten applicants received their first-choice schools.

Families can participate in any of the other placement periods to receive a higher choice school.   But they need to register to secure enrollment at the assigned school by April 13. Otherwise, their placement will be cancelled.
