KTSF had a phone interview with Janet Liana who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She needs to find a bone marrow match before April and says, ” I am really grateful to everyone’s concern and help. If you are not able to donate your marrow, please know that there are other ways to help, like spreading the word to your friends and family.”
The Asian American Donor Program has organized a series of bone marrow registration drives for this Saturday for Janet Liang and other leukemia patients. Registry is easy, fast and free. The process is simple, and there are no obligations . The AADP says while there are misconceptions about bone marrow donation, it’s a safe procedure for healthy donors.
