Jeremy Lin has been gaining followers on social media and had the NBA’s top-selling jersey online in the first week when it was available. A growing number of fans are buying a variety of products such as t-shirts, jerseys and fan towers issued by the NBA either on line or in stores.
Patrick Rishe, contributor to Forbes, wrote an article recently and predicted that the economics of Jeremy Lin could translate into $150 million by the 2012-13 season. Alibaba.com, a global B2B online company, also sees a rapid increase in Jeremy Lin-related product s from their suppliers. If you searched on alibaba.com 10 days ago, there were no items found. Now, there are almost 200 things to choose from on thier web site including shirts, smart phone cases and pins. They expect more products from their suppliers in the near future.
