It’s time to get out the winter coats. As the temperature drops, most people reach for their winter coats. But not everyone has that luxury.
A coat called One Warm Coat was kicked off the day after Thanksgiving in Santana Row shopping center in San Jose. With winter closing in, the public can bring gently used and cleaned coats or jackets to one of the drop-off locations thought the holiday and to the end of the year. One sponsor said, “Even during the hard time, people come out. We have been here for 2 hours, and we have at least 200 coats donated which has been great.”
Dozen of local girl scouts helped collect coats today. “It kind of a nice feeling that you help somebody else, like you are not doing it for you. You do this for somebody else.” “It’s Christmas time, so it’s a good time to start giving to people. It’s a really cold season. When you have an old coat, you can just donate them for a good cause.”
