(BCN) Four Bay Area residents should be all smiles this holiday weekend after winning a portion of the MEGA Millions California Lottery prize, lottery officials announced Saturday.

Five tickets throughout the state matched five numbers in Friday night’s draw, with four of the prize-winning tickets purchased in the Bay Area.

The winners will split the $778,315 prize, making each winning ticket worth $155,663, lotto officials said.

The lucky tickets were sold in Richmond, Redwood City, and Milpitas at the respective stores, ARCO AM/PM at 15531 San Pablo Ave.; Stop in Food at 754 Woodside Road; and 7-Eleven at 1838 Milmount Drive. Two winning tickets hailed from the Milpitas 7-Eleven.

The fifth winning ticket was from Los Angeles County.

The winning tickets matched the numbers 8, 3, 5, 29 and 18.

And Christmas is looking brighter for a woman who bought a $1 million lottery ticket in San Francisco’s Financial District, California lottery officials announced this week.

The lucky winner, who officials named as M. Slater, purchased the winning $250 Million Cash Spectacular Scratcher ticket at Star Convenience at One Post St.

The retailer will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the million-dollar ticket, lottery officials said.

There are still 16 instant $1 million prizes to win through the purchase of the $10 Scratcher tickets, lotto officials said.
