Jack Chin was diagnosed with Acute lymphoblastic Leukemia in July 2011.  He was an undergraduate student at UCLA studying economics and accounting. He had a year left at UCLA before graduating, but was not able to complete his studies because of his diagnosis of leukemia.  Originally born in Taipei, Taiwan, Jack moved to New Jersey at a young age before settling in California for most of his life.  Jack led an active life at UCLA, working in the ASUCLA Events office, as well as participating in clubs such as the Asian American Tutorial Project and Active Minds. During the summer of 2011, Jack had been experiencing pain in his legs and was eventually diagnosed with Acute lymphoblastic Leukemia. He has endured multiple rounds of chemotherapy and now requires a marrow/stem cell transplant into order to have the best chance of survival.
