Today was the graduation ceremony for twenty students who have been trained in green construction from the Asian Neighborhood Design’s Employment Training Center (ETC) in San Francisco.
The goal of the center is to prepare at-risk youth and young adults enter the job market and improve their career opportunities.
One graduate says, ”This is a really good opportunity to better myself, and our community . I really appreciate the opportunity to be here and be part of the future.”
The Executive Director of Asian Neighborhood Design, Steven Suzuki, says graduates have a better understanding of “green” before getting hired.
Each year, up to 60 graduates gain comprehensive skills in construction and carpentry as well as basic education.
