Asian Health Service (AHS) is going to have a new clinic in Oakland Chinatown by the end of 2012. It will be located at the corner of Webster & 9th streets.
The new clinic is going to serve 40,000 patient visits every year and will create approximately 160 new job opportunities.
AHS will invest $10.5 million in the new facility, including a $5.1 million federal grant awarded to AHS as part of President Obama’s health care reform.
The future home for AHS is now home to a Chinese restaurant. The owner, 58-year old Wesley Chee, says said he is going to sell the property and enjoy his life with his family.
