Vincent Lo, an immigrant from Hong Kong, learned about two years ago that he had liver cancer. He worried about his wife and two children more than his own survival. He underwent surgery two weeks after the diagnosis and gradually recovered. He resumed his normal life after three months. During his recovery, he went to Mexico on a five-day cruise. In addition to his cruise, he received an extra gift: one more daughter.
He expressed his thankfulness to his wife who took care of him and the children during his illness. His wife said she has learned how to let go of unhappiness and focus more on the current moment because life is uncontrollable.
