News Production Assistant – Part Time
KTSF is seeking a part time Production Assistant who is responsible for ensuring the continuity of work flow and communications regarding the production of the live Cantonese and Mandarin language newscasts. Responsibilities includes: Inputting information in ENPS rundown. Knowledge of non-linear editing ; produce news teases with good production value. Maintaining accuracy and balance in all content being produced especially teases. Strong time-management skills: Ability to meet pressing deadlines, collect information, gather resources in a timely manner, check for accuracy including but not limited to story information, sponsorship, commercial breaks, back-timing of program. Logging and recording news source from KPIX. It is critical that the P.A. verify daily use of free-lance videographers used by KPIX. If KTSF needs such footage, P.A. contacts free-lance immediately with request for an invoice. Assist in monitoring total running time (TRT) during live broadcast; update director, producer, crew. At all times, this job requires timely and accurate communication prior, during and after the live production with all departments involved in producing the news. News Director may assign training of new staff. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements include: Fluent in English and Chinese. Excellent interpersonal skills. Majored in mass communication or production. Ability to meet critical deadlines. Reliable transportation to/from work. Basic computer literacy including web, social media.
