KTSF TV seeks motivated and experienced General Sales Manager. We are looking for:
Excellent people and client skills. Experience in Asian and/or non-English broadcasting preferred. Record of success running sales department in a challenging environment. Excellent record of overall success in sales and management. Manage and motivate sales and research staff to achieve annual goals. Develop and implement sales and marketing plans for the station. Responsible for setting advertising rates and generating revenues to meet set goals.
Political Sales Coordinator – Full Time
Political revenue has become a vital part of the success of KTSF. We are expanding our efforts and building a new political team. KTSF is searching for a dynamic and experienced leader for that team. The successful candidate will be able to lead a team whose primary focus will be to develop and increase political revenue. The team leader will also carry a non-political sales portfolio.
Sales Account Executives – Full Time
The San Francisco Bay Area’s leader in Asian Language Television is seeking Account Executives to develop new business and service existing advertisers. The ideal candidate is energetic, positive and goal-oriented. Must be highly-organized and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Candidate will be computer/internet proficient, have a valid driver’s license, and have the ability to work as part of a team. Previous advertising sales experience and college education is a plus. Language proficiency in Chinese is a plus.
Programming Supervisor – Full Time
KTSF is seeking a Programming Supervisor to provide technical and administrative support for Programming and programming staff. Assist the Director of Programming in department operation.
Create and maintain spreadsheets and databases in order to monitor daily, weekly, quarterly and annual flow of digital video files. Develop client relations and troubleshoot discrepancies in programming or billing. Program preparation & editing; shipping and receiving, organizing & maintaining tape library, quality check including timing & labeling, program guide and other duties. One-year experience in broadcasting preferred. Working knowledge of nonlinear editing systems including adobe and FCP. Proficiency with Windows operating system including MS Excel, Access and Office. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Cantonese & Mandarin language skills preferred.
Production Assistant (Graphics) – Part Time
KTSF is seeking a part time Production Assistant (Graphics) to develop graphics for live, in-language evening newscasts, promo spots and other programming. Solves problem with Graphics Supervisor to insure quality of on air image. Responsibilities: Develops on-line computer aided design elements using Chinese character generators and Chinese input method. Creates graphics with PC using Photoshop, Inscriber and related graphics software. Organizes list of names, location, weather and sports information for News, Programming and other departments as directed. Plays back graphics during live newscasts. Creative problem solving under the pressure of a live newscast and other deadlines. May perform other duties as assigned. Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Communication or equivalent. Two years of experience creating graphics using Chinese character generators and Chinese input method. Proficiency in English and Chinese. Ability to read/write in English and Chinese. Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills. Advanced problem solving skills and ability to work professionally with all levels. Ability to organize, manage, control workflow and meets deadlines. Computer including Microsoft Word and Excel.
News Production Assistant – Part Time
KTSF is seeking a part time Production Assistant who is responsible for ensuring the continuity of work flow and communications regarding the production of the live Cantonese and Mandarin language newscasts. Responsibilities includes: Inputting information in ENPS rundown. Knowledge of non-linear editing; produce news teases with good production value. Maintaining accuracy and balance in all content being produced especially teases. Strong time-management skills: Ability to meet pressing deadlines, collect information, gather resources in a timely manner, check for accuracy including but not limited to story information, sponsorship, commercial breaks, back-timing of program. Logging and recording news source from KPIX. It is critical that the P.A. verify daily use of free-lance videographers used by KPIX. If KTSF needs such footage, P.A. contacts free-lance immediately with request for an invoice. Assist in monitoring total running time (TRT) during live broadcast; update director, producer, crew. At all times, this job requires timely and accurate communication prior, during and after the live production with all departments involved in producing the news. News Director may assign training of new staff. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements include: Fluent in English and Chinese. Excellent interpersonal skills. Majored in mass communication or production. Ability to meet critical deadlines. Reliable transportation to/from work. Basic computer literacy including web, social media. No Calls. EOE.

KTSF-TV offers internships to college and university students who major in Broadcasting, Communications, Journalism and Human Resources Management. Internships are unpaid and require enrollment in an academic internship program. We reimburse commuting expenses at a rate of $15.00 per day.
