Program preparation & editing; shipping and receiving, organizing & maintaining library tapes, quality check of tapes, including timing & labeling, and any other responsibilities that may be assigned. Working knowledge of linear and non-linear editing systems/equipment, operational knowledge of Final Cut Pro preferred, as well as waveform monitor and vectorscope operation. One year experience in broadcasting preferred, proficient with Excel and Word, excellent organizational and communication skills. Mandarin and/or Cantonese language skills required.
TV News Graphics Operator for live evening newscast and special programming in Chinese. Part-Time and On-call weekdays and weekends. Requires ability to read and write English and Chinese; Develops on-line computer aided design elements using Chinese input method; Creates graphics with PC using Photoshop, Deko and related graphics software; Plays back graphics during live newscasts; Creative problem solving under the pressure of a live newscast and other deadlines; Experience in Chinese input method and proficiency in PC using Photoshop.
This position will assist with contract entry, log editing, generating missing copy reports and reconciling pre-empted spots. Will also assist with creating and inputting show formats and with inventory codes. Works closely with sales, programming, marketing and operations departments.
Duties: Maintain and initiate changes regarding Programming (specials, program changes, format changes, addition and deletion of contracts for infomercials, time brokers and other paid programs), Sales (contract and media input), Production (input of produced spots and billboards), Public Service (input and maintenance of inventoried Public Service Announcements and their contracts) and Operations (maintenance of inventoried spots in database). Coordinate all input of promotional announcements and public service announcements into Wide Orbit system. Responsible for product protection, open spots and late changes to logs. Responsible for accurate tracking and rotation of commercial copy provided by sales/clients, making revisions in a timely manner. Make all necessary adjustments (times shows with time sheets supplied, fill avails with promos, PSAs and check for in-language spots) to the daily log before it is printed. Creates, enters and revises formats for programs in Show Formats and on the log. Prints and copies log on daily basis. Decision Making: Must be highly detail-oriented, multi-tasking and able to deal with clients and primarily sales staff in a pleasant, professional manner. Overtime may be required. May perform other duties as assigned. Requires: Minimum Associates (A.A.) degree or technical school equivalent required as well as one year of experience in Traffic/Operations. Must have 1-2 years television traffic experience, preferably using Wide Orbit. Must have accurate typing skills, ten-key by touch preferable. Prior knowledge of computerized broadcasting helpful, but not essential. Superior organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills. Advanced problem solving skills and ability to work professionally with all levels. Ability to organize, manage, control workflow and meets deadlines.
